This website, www.jantv.in (the "Site"), is operated by CSL Infomedia Pvt. Ltd., IT 14-15, EPIP, Sitapura, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302022, India (the "Company", "we", "us", "our"). We publish a 24x7 Hindi news channel and a digital news platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data collected through the Site.

We collect limited personal data, and only what is necessary to operate the Site and respond to your requests.

2.1 Information you provide directly

• Contact forms: your name, email, phone (optional), and the content of your message when you write to us through Contact Us.
• Corrections: your name, email, the article URL, and the details of the error you report — see our Corrections Policy.
• Applications: résumé and contact details if you apply for a job with us.
• Advertise enquiries: business name, contact person, email, phone.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Server logs: IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp.
• Device information: browser type, operating system, screen size, language.
• Usage data: pages viewed, time on page, outbound links clicked, internal search queries.

2.3 Information from third parties

• Analytics and statistics: aggregate traffic data — see Third Parties.
• Advertising: we do not currently run programmatic third-party ad exchanges on this Site beyond the ads clearly marked as advertisements on the homepage and category pages.

• To operate the Site. Serve pages, load images, protect against abuse.
• To respond to you. Reply to correction requests, contact messages, advertising enquiries, and job applications.
• To improve the Site. Understand which articles are read and which are not, so we can commission better coverage.
• To meet legal obligations. Comply with applicable Indian law, TRAI regulations, and lawful requests from competent authorities.
• To protect our rights. Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security, and technical issues.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to build shadow profiles for the purpose of targeting advertising outside the Site.

4. Cookies & Tracking

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser. We use a small number of cookies for the following purposes:

• Session cookies: to keep a page-load consistent if you use an interactive feature (e.g., the "load more categories" button). Removed when you close your browser.
• Statistics cookies: our statistics counter (StatCounter) sets a cookie to distinguish unique visitors. The counter is rendered only when JavaScript is enabled; when disabled, an anonymous image fallback is used.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some interactive features, but most of the Site — including all articles — will work normally without cookies.

5. Third Parties

We work with a small set of service providers. Each provider processes data only on our instructions and only for the purpose described.

• StatCounter (statcounter.com) — aggregate visit statistics. Privacy policy.
• Google Maps (maps.google.com) — embedded on the Contact page to show our office location. Loading the map shares your IP address and browser information with Google. Privacy policy.
• Cloudflare / Bootstrap CDN / jQuery CDN — used to serve static assets quickly. These do not set cookies for us, but they see the IP address of every request.
• Email provider — used to receive and reply to [email protected] messages.

We do not currently use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any programmatic advertising exchange on this Site. If we add such a service, this page will be updated with a clear notice before the service goes live.

6. Data Retention

• Server logs: retained for up to 30 days, then deleted or aggregated.
• Correction requests: retained for up to 3 years so we can demonstrate the correction was made if the article is later disputed.
• Contact form messages: retained for up to 1 year, then deleted.
• Job applications: retained for up to 1 year unless the applicant asks for earlier deletion.
• Advertising enquiries: retained for the duration of the campaign plus 1 year for accounting.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct any inaccurate data.
• Delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Complain to the Grievance Officer or to a competent data-protection authority.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is a general-audience news website. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact the Grievance Officer and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will change whenever we do. Material changes will also be announced in a short note on the homepage for at least 7 days.
